About Low Light Level Imaging Sensors

Charge-coupled devices (CCDs) image sensors were the first sensors that were used in the camera devices. However, these CCD sensors are being replaced by complementary metal-oxide semi-conductor (CMOS) sensors. Low light level imaging sensors capture images in low light conditions. The sensors are primarily used in night vision devices, optic lights, and cameras.
