About Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler
Circulating fluidized bed combustion is a highly effective way to generate electricity efficiently while keeping the emissions under control. Combustion takes place inside a boiler over a bed of inert material, usually a mixture of fuel, air, and a sorbent such as limestone. During the process, primary air is introduced at a high pressure from the bottom of the boiler that raises the particles and keeps them suspended. This makes the bed attain a liquid-like state. Circulating fluidized bed boilers are an alternative to pulverized coal combustion technology and are more efficient. They offer greater flexibility to burn a wide range of fuels.
