Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis belongs to a group of lung diseases known as interstitial lung diseases. It affects people in the age group 50-70 years. Nintedanib and pirfenidone are the two approved drugs for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Corticosteroids and immunosuppressive drugs are also used for the treatment.
